Definition
The Namco System 256 is an arcade version of the Sony PlayStation 2 console and an upgraded version of the Namco System 246. An upgraded version of the System 256 hardware called the Super System 256 was also released but used exclusively for Time Crisis 4. Software was distributed on DVD-ROM media. Security dongles in the form of PS2 memory cards using MagicGate were bundled with software.
