Definition
The Sony PlayStation is a console released by Sony in 1994. Software was distributed on CD-ROM media. Most CD-ROMs for PlayStation have a black-dyed bottom, this does not affect dumping. Sony released an amateur development kit called the Net Yaroze in 1996.
General Notes
- Internal Serials for all Sony systems are a standardized format in redump: [T:ISN] XXXX-##### (example: [T:ISN] SLUS-01234)
- Because of the difficulty in capturing full PSX ringcodes, it is acceptable for verifications to be submitted with only mould SID present. In this case, if the mould SID does not already belong to an existing ringcode, it should be merged into an entry containing multiple orphaned mould SIDs. If a verification is submitted with a full ringcode, including a mould SID which matches an existing orphaned SID, the orphaned SID should be removed.
- If a more complete entry is later submitted which matches an existing lone mould SID, this information can be merged.
- NoEDC discs with audio tracks always have at least a single error in the last data sector before the audio track will start on the disc. Be sure to check that, and don't remove that error if already mentioned on the disc page, both redumper and DIC should show that error without issues.
