Definition
The Namco System 256 is an arcade version of the Sony PlayStation 2 console and an upgraded version of the [[Namco System 246 Guide|Namco System 246]. An upgraded version of the System 256 hardware called the Super System 256 was also released but used exclusively for Time Crisis 4. Software was distributed on DVD-ROM media. Security dongles in the form of PS2 memory cards using MagicGate were bundled with software.
