Definition
The Photo CD (PCD) is a format developed by Kodak in 1991 to store photos on CD-ROM. Photo CDs are part of the Beige Book standard of the Rainbow Book specifications. Most Photo CDs include a program for running on Philips CD-i or IBM PC. Dedicated Photo CD players exist, as well as combo Video CD / DVD-Video / Photo CD players.
