Definition

The Nintendo Wii is Nintendo's second optical based console released in 2006. The Wii's hardware is very similar to the Nintendo GameCube, but changed to full-size DVD-ROMs. Datel released several unlicensed discs for the Nintendo Wii that bypassed the console's official disc detection. Discs for the Nintendo Wii are not typically readable by normal PC DVD-ROM drives, but some drives like the OmniDrive can be tricked into reading them.
