Versions

When two different numbered versions of a given disc exist, both entries get the version number placed into the datname. This also applies to v1.00 discs.

Ringcodes

In general, the rule for adding a new line to the ringcodes field is that this should only be done when a new mastering code or mastering SID is present. For PS2, however, there are three exceptions to that rule:

Australia / Europe

Australian releases often share the same mastering code and SID as their European counterparts, but have a unique pattern for mould SID and toolstamp which differentiates them. Where an Australian disc has a toolstamp A00, B00, C00 etc. and/or a mould SID of the pattern IFPI 65xx (compared to the usual IFPI 94xx for EU releases), then this should be added as a separate line.

See https://redump.info/disc/9639/ for an example

USA

USA releases often share the same mastering code but have a unique mastering code, mould SID and (eventually) a toolstamp which differentiates them. IFPI 72xx (without toolstamp, usually), IFPI 50xx and IFPI QWxx ringcodes with their respective mastering SID code should be kept separated and added to a new line.

See https://redump.info/disc/627/ for an example

Disc with both data & label-side ringcode

There are some cases where specific editions of a PS2 release (Promo Only, Not For Resale / Platinum), have both data and label-side ringcodes. Where these match existing entries, even if the data-side ringcode is identical an entirely new line should be created with a separate entry for the release with both sets of ringcodes.

See https://redump.info/disc/5243/ for an example

Internal Serial

Internal Serials for all Sony systems are a standardized format in redump: [T:ISN] XXXX-##### (example: [T:ISN] SLUS-01234)

SuperLite 2000 / Simple 2000

For SuperLite 2000 edition discs, "SuperLite 2000 Vol. " the title should always begin with "SuperLite 2000 Vol. ", even in cases where there is an Original edition that matches.

The same type of naming applies to Simple 2000 Series discs too.
